Mr. Bellomo has done it yet again. This pocket guide is 207 pages and actually does fit in your back pocket but somehow reads like a full-sized guide. It is filled with color photos throughout. The vast amount of information is presented chronologically and is exhaustively researched, as we have come to expect from this author. Order this and browse around for his other guides to GI Joe and Transformers and his larger guide to Star Wars. After investigating those books, add them to your cart then buy them too.

If you want a comprehensive price guide for vintage star wars toys, do not buy this book. It has only prices for a few select vintage toys from each of the original movies. 80% of this book is dedicated to Star Wars toys from 1990 on. Get Bellomo's vintage guide and do make the same mistake I did.

The songs remain the same....

This is pure anorak territory for avid Bolan/TRex fans and i guess i don't fall into that category. I was anticipating slightly more focus on Marc the man rather than a song-by-song analysis. Of course the clue is in the title but still i was hoping for more of an insight to the workings of Marc's mind and attitude towards band members which was notoriously harsh on occasion.

If you live and breath Bolan's music then you will love this; it is extremely well researched and very thorough. Definitely worth a punt if you're that way inclined.

Can lead reader astray because doesn't always tell the whole story

Generally good, but some things need more information. Illustration on page 22 shows Hungary as a country from which immigrants came. However, before World War I, Hungary meant the entire Austro-Hungarian Empire that included what after WWI were Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, and other southern and eastern European countries. People are misled about their ancestors' origins because of only Hungary being on the passenger manifests. On page 50, it wasn't just single women who might have trouble leaving Ellis Island, but also women traveling with their children to meet their husbands who already were in the U.S. A male relative or sponsor didn't have "to come for them", but did have to assure they had enough money to get to their final destination. I know, because this happened to my maternal grandmother and her 3 children in 1906. They only place the officials had to house these women and children while they waited for permission was the hospital island.
